Getting the ball rolling
Alright, in last few sections I have provided considerable conceptual groundwork for the Lightning Path and by this time you should have a good sense that your physical body is a vehicle for spirit. You should also have good idea what the nature of consciousness is, and have a general idea of how the interface between consciousness and the physical body works, that is you want to engage in right action, right thought, and build right environment.
In this section I want to talk about where to go from here. That is, now that you have a general idea about the nature of consciousness and the body, and how they work together, now you have have to start the process of filling up of the vessel with light of consciousness. That is, now you have to go from the low levels of consciousness in the body that are bequeathed to us by our socialization within The System to higher, more natural and empowered levels more characteristic of properly socialized, healthy physical unit.
And how do you do that?
Well, that is easy, sorta.
Technically getting the process going is quite simple. Technically, all you have to is say to yourself “I want to wake up” and the process will start.
I mean, it’s not magic, at least not in the way we are taught to think about magic by Hollywood or the “brotherhoods.”
You don’t need complicated mumbo jumbo, rituals, or claptrap.
Really and truly, it is just like like waking up in the morning!
Just make the decision, set your intent, and the process will start.
Of course, just like like waking up in the morning, while it is relatively easy to open your eyes and begin the process, dragging yourself up and out of impotent spiritual sleep may not be as easy as you’d like. In fact, depending on how deep you’ve been sleeping, and depending on how what is going on around you, it could be a bit of a struggle. Nothing you can’t handle of course, but it might not be all golden right out of the post. And the reason why this is, is simple, you will find that as you start to wake up, there will be resistance.
Why?
Well, as I point out in Dossier of the Ascension, and as I’ll elaborate later in The Book of Songs and The Black Book, it is basically because having a population of fully awakened and empowered individuals is incompatible with the status quo as so, a lot of effort is put into giving making you think all the wrong things, making you take all the wrong actions, and making you create all the wrong environments, all of which make it a lot harder for consciousness to expand into your body.
And it starts right from birth.
Rather than teaching you about your divinity and light, the first thing you learn coming out of the womb is whether you are a boy or a girl. Once you learn this (and you will learn this because it will be enforced by parents, teachers, lovers, and the media monster), you are subsequently limited based on your gender (i.e. boys don’t cry, girls are soft and weak,) . It’s a fundamental and pernicious limitation and separation for which there is no basis in consciousness. You always have to remember, consciousness is not gendered at all.
And if separating you and limiting you based on whether or not you have a penis or a vagina wasn’t bad enough, there’s a host of other separations and limitations that occur as your parents and teachers teach you how to rank and file yourself by grading you and ranking you and otherwise boxing you into to horrible little box, locked away from your consciousness and your divinity, but rewarded (if you conform) by the carrot and stick of gold stars, money, status, and power and punished if you don’t.
It is pernicious and horrible and has ugly effect on us and the children as all the “lessons” taught to us by our parents and teachers finally manifest in the often mean and vicious separations of high school (i.e. all the powerfully enforced cliques and exclusions that occur). I suppose the worst part of it is that we (and by “we” I mean the parents and the teachers and the media) then go and and absolve ourselves of responsibility by suggesting that we aren’t responsible by dishing some nonesense about how it’s “natural” or a “phase” or something like htat.
I mean, the truth is, you’re not defined by your body or the job you do.
That’s just wrong headed.
The truth is, you are defined by the divinity and light within.
That’s right thinking!
And of course, there’s a lot more to it then just this. Beyond the limitations that are burned into you as part of your socialization process there are the fears and misconceptions and oppression that are all designed to leave you impotent and powerless. All these things (and more) make awakening and empowerment problematic. I would not be wrong to say that when it comes to personal or collective awakening and empowerment, the world is organized against you, and in often subtle and hard to detect ways.
So what are we going to do about it?
Well, from here we are going to go in two directions. On the one hand we are going to learn more about the physical unit, it’s energy systems, and how it functions (and is blocked) and on the other hand we are going to learn more about the resistances and obstacles to awakening and empowerment that we face.
